and my desk is invisible under so many papers but i just wanna look nice today
grandpa's used books lay unread
collecting the scent of beer under my bed to make
newness of old things i wont admit defeat today
blew smoke out the window sang a song with the birds of prey
blew through two matchbooks without burning an effigy
when did i become so content in my apathy
saw you this morning when i was walking to breakfast but i didnt make sense of it enough to say anything
too exhausted to saturate voids with immaturity and bullshit ice breakers
too little time to be discussing the winter
we both know we're bigger than
pocket sized phrases just to put this in the past tense and
buildings with side doors make for a shitty audience but its not as discomforting as the feeling i wont suffice
to the billboards around me that preach staying positive
beyond a three week vacation of believing im cut out for this
connecting the dots of nights stacking accomplishments
ive tried every combo and cant seem to make them fit
and if anything thats what im taking from all of this

end of the hour there are spiders in the dryer
the coffee machine is on
